Improvement of Rural Access Road with initiative for self-reliance of communities

Rural communities suffering from poor road conditions in Clapar area, in one of sub-villages where Aliet Green established the first Organic and Fair Trade projects for Coconut Sugar received support to improve rural access road.

Due to financial constraints, cost efficiency and the small number of beneficiaries,
the priority of policy makers at Clapar Sub-Village to take care of these roads was low.

In order to improve accessibility of rural access roads to communities in Clapar Sub-Village, it was necessary to help farmer’s community construct intra and near-sub village transport connecting the houses and farms in various communities.

Transport activities on rural access roads are performed to a certain extent on foot,
sometimes by intermediate means of transport, such as bicycles and animal-drawn carts, and occasionally by motorized transport.
